Camp Guide (2024)

Thank you for registering for our Chinese Folk Arts Summer Camp! There are new procedures in place this year. Please review the camp guide below. If you have any questions, please email us at camp@wceo.org.

Daily Check In

  • The daily check-in time is 8:45 am to 9:00 am every day. Campers must complete check-in by 9:00.

  • Parents have to sign the campers in at the designated check-in table.

  • Please report to the check-in table for your child’s assigned class. You will receive the confirmation email with your child’s assigned class one week before camp.

  • Please do not send your campers with backpacks. We will provide stationery and all materials for the camp classes.

  • Please try your best to maintain a safe distance between yourself and others during the check-in process!

First Day Check In

  • Please report to the check-in table for your child’s assigned class with the confirmation email.

  • Your child will receive 2 camp T-shirts on the first day and will be asked to change into this shirt after check-in.

  • If your child requires any prescription or timely medication during camp, please leave the medicine in its original packaging and provide any instructions to our staff members during check-in.

Lunch, Snack, & Water Bottle

Please prepare the lunch and snack in the same name-labeled, easily recognizable lunch box/bag!

Lunch

  • Please help your child prepare and bring lunch for Monday through Thursday.

  • Please note that there is no microwave available at camp.

  • The camp will provide pizza for all campers for our lunch party on Friday.

Snack

  • Please prepare a small snack for your child Monday through Thursday.

  • Snack time will be around 3:30 pm.

  • No snack time on Friday due to the closing ceremony and early dismissal.

Water Bottle

  • Campers are required to bring their own name-labeled, refillable water bottles each day. Hydration is extremely important.

Daily Check Out

  • Monday through Thursday: 5:00 - 5:15 pm

  • Friday after the closing ceremony around 2:45 - 3:15 pm.

  • Please pick up your child no later than 5:15 pm Monday through Thursday. Any late pick-ups will incur a $1/minute late-pick-up fee.

  • Please report to the check-out table before entering for pick up.

  • We will not release your child to anyone without the check-out confirmation..

Early Pick-Up

  • If you need to pick up your child before 5:00 pm, please try to pick up around the following times to avoid disrupting class: 10:15 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, or 3:15 pm (these time points are the end of each class period).

  • To pick up your child early, please report to our camp office first.

Friday Closing Ceremony and Camper Performance

  • The Closing Ceremony and Camper Performance will take place on Friday from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Parent seating begins at 1:15 pm.

  • Upon arrival, you will be able to scan a QR code for the program.

  • This event might be outdoors. You may bring your lawn chair and water bottle to enjoy the outdoor program.

  • If you do not plan to attend this event, please pick up your child no later than 3:00 pm.
