As March and Women’s History Month comes to a close, we do not want to miss an important opportunity to introduce some of the important women on our team here at Wisdom Culture and Education Organization. We’re very excited to have Paige Wu join us as we partner with the New Taipei City government to create new programs for youth in Taiwan.

1) What were you doing before you joined WCEO?
在2013年創立「故事小天使」活動，7年來在大台北地區的圖書館及藝文空間規劃青少年英文繪本閱讀服務，獲得很好的回饋，並深感臺灣的青少年在服務學習面向應能創造更多的可能性，於是在一個難得的機緣之下，加入WCEO團隊。
After establishing the program “Little Story Angels” in Taipei in 2013, we filled our local libraries with creative art spaces where local youth volunteers came and read stories to children. The feedback for the program was overwhelmingly positive, igniting a strong belief in me that the youth in Taiwan should take upon more opportunities for community service. When a unique opportunity to join WCEO presented itself, I quickly joined the team.
2) What programs do you lead at WCEO?
目前辦理「新北文化大使」活動，是一個在新北市辦理為期一年的規劃與執行文化傳播的培訓課程及實踐活動。這個活動的特別之處，在於順應「文化」的流動性，培訓的規劃是WECEO，但產出實踐的內容則全然由參與學員共同發想、規劃及創作，這部分在臺灣的服務學習領域，是一個很大的突破。
Currently, I am working on the new “New Taipei City Youth Culture Ambassador” program, which is a one-year long program on cultural communication via training courses and practical activities in a group setting. The unique aspect of the program lies in its flexibility and adaptability to the evolving culture, where the output of our volunteers’ planning, hard work, and efforts are shared amongst them. This is an incredible breakthrough in the culture of Taiwanese volunteer and community service field.
3) Who are the women in your life that inspire you?
在我的人生當中，第一位影響我的女人，當然是我的母親；第二位影響我的人，是藉由聆聽故事錄音帶，覺得海倫凱勒的老師是很棒的標杆；其他影響我的女人是我工作生涯中的主管們，感謝他們在我的工作上給予的教導與指引。
The first woman to inspire me in my life is, of course, my mother. The second women I was inspired by, is Helen Keller’s teacher Anne Sullivan; after listening to her story on the radio, I think that Anne is a great role model. Other inspiring women are my colleagues and supervisors at work. I’m very grateful to them for their wisdom and guidance.
